Terwijl ik sta te koken, bedenk ik me dat het alweer 5 jaar geleden is dat ik afscheid nam op mijn werk. Mijn vaste contract maakte plaats voor fulltime moederschap… hier spreekt een dankbaar mens.
Terwijl we luisteren naar Elly & Rikkert, ‘groter groeien, weet je hoe dat moet?!’ Kijk ik naar mijn voetballende zoon buiten. Het maakt niet uit dat het regent, die bal is er om tegenaan te schoppen. Onze dochter zingt mee met de muziek en samen met onze jongste spelen ze met de Playmobil. Niet dat het er hier altijd zo vreedzaam aan toe gaat hoor. Maar dit zijn van die momenten waar ik als moeder zo van kan genieten. Dankbaar dat ik er mag zijn, voor deze kinderen. En dan sta ik ondertussen eten te koken en deze blog te schrijven. En moeten we over een half uur naar de zwemles. Sta ik ‘gewoon’ te typen boven een pan met dampende pasta, omdat Hij het is die het op mijn hart legt.
Dankbaar om na 5 jaar terug te kijken en te kunnen zeggen: het was de juiste beslissing, geen seconde spijt. Het bracht alleen maar mooie, nieuwe dingen op mijn pad. Het gaf me vooral tijd…
Ik weet niet of je het herkent, maar ieder jaar weer aan het begin van het nieuwe jaar ontstaan er bij mij nieuwe plannen, nieuwe ideeën. Nieuwe stappen om te zetten. En ja dat kan ook nog steeds wanneer je een druk leven hebt met een (jong) gezin.
Dit jaar is het niet echt nodig om nieuwe plannen te maken, want de plannen zijn er natuurlijk al: verhuizen naar een nieuwe woning. Heerlijk om hier de komende maanden naar toe te werken.
Verhuizen, en dat na precies 10 jaar. Ook hopen we dit jaar ons 10-jarig huwelijk te vieren. 
Een nieuw decennium is aangebroken met het jaar 2020. Het lijkt wel het jaar van de ronde getallen en jubilea. Een mooi moment om eens even bij stil te staan. Tel je zegeningen! Of kijk je liever vooruit? Een nieuw jaar, met nieuwe kansen, met mogelijk nieuwe plannen in het verschiet.
Als ik terugdenk aan vorig jaar, was ik rond deze weken druk bezig om deze website te realiseren. Alweer een jaar verder… Nog even terugdenkend, met een dankbaar hart, maar ook uitziend naar wat komen gaat. “The best is yet to come”.
Dat 2020 ook voor jou, lieve mama, een nieuw, gezegend en hoopvol jaar mag worden!
